About Me

The Magic of Massage Therapy

I was going through intense physical therapy to recover after surgery, and every day I went to bed with sore, achy muscles. Finally, my physical therapist suggest I give massage therapy a try. Massage therapy really helped me relax and unwind after a hard day at physical therapy, but I think it also helped speed my recovery. It helped with blood flow and circulation, and I really felt much better after every session. I liked it so much that I kept going even after I was fully recovered. I started this blog to talk about the magic of massage therapy. It really helped me, and I believe that it can really help others as well. If you’ve been wanting to learn what massage therapy is like and how it helps, you’ll find the answers here on my blog.

Trending Cataract Surgery Lens Options That Could Benefit Your Cataract And Presbyopia Eye Conditions

As people age, cataract growth is a distinct possibility. Your lens harden and cloud your vision. Past technology allowed for simply having your ophthalmology surgeon use the process of phacoemulsification to break up your affected natural lens during surgery and replace it with an artificial intraocular lens. The problem with that solution is that artificial lens is not a perfect fit for near vision, and you must wear eyeglasses for near vision problems following cataract surgery. Technology has evolved over the years, and you now have the option of choosing trending cataract surgery lens that do not require you to rely on eyeglasses. You can also look forward to new options if you suffer from presbyopia.

Multifocal Replacement Lenses

You have the choice of using multifocal replacement lenses that are similar to bifocal eyeglasses. Multifocal replacement lenses correct both close-up and distance vision. Be aware though that if you have a broad scope of astigmatism, you're automatically ruled out as a candidate for multifocal replacement lens. Astigmatism is eyesight that is impaired and results in conformation of your eye's cornea. However, measured good news is on the way for you if you suffer from astigmatism.

Future Multifocal Replacement Lens For Astigmatism Patients?

The Federal Drug Administration (FDA) is in the process of reviewing a new lens that will allow patients with astigmatism to potentially qualify for multifocal lenses. Another trending possibility is that you may not ever again have to undergo surgery to remove cataracts in the future. It is a guarded prediction, though. Researchers are also working on developing eye drops that can prevent and even reverse cataracts without surgery. Two recent studies reportedly indicate that this technology is a distinct possibility following trials conducted on animals.

Scientists recommend, however, that you do not cancel your cataract surgery plans in order to take advantage of forthcoming technology. They are advising that this anticipated technology is a long way off from becoming a reality. In fact, they assert that there is no reason to believe that any new cataract medications are currently in the making for human use.

Trending Correct Lenses For Presbyopia Condition

If you also have been diagnosed with presbyopia, you've reason to be hopeful, since the FDA has approved three presbyopia-correcting lenses for your use. Presbyopia is also an age-related hardening of your lens. The condition causes your eye to change the shape of your natural lens, which affects changing from distant to intermediate or near objects.

Two of the three correcting lenses are referred to as pseudo-accommodating lens. The third is called accommodating lenses that scientists say will achieve dynamic visual effects. They say that pseudo-accommodating lens is not perfect. Discuss these FDA-approved presbyopia-correcting lenses with your surgeon when you meet in consultation for presbyopia corrective surgery information. Ask whether the new trends can benefit your specific presbyopia condition.
