About Me

The Magic of Massage Therapy

I was going through intense physical therapy to recover after surgery, and every day I went to bed with sore, achy muscles. Finally, my physical therapist suggest I give massage therapy a try. Massage therapy really helped me relax and unwind after a hard day at physical therapy, but I think it also helped speed my recovery. It helped with blood flow and circulation, and I really felt much better after every session. I liked it so much that I kept going even after I was fully recovered. I started this blog to talk about the magic of massage therapy. It really helped me, and I believe that it can really help others as well. If you’ve been wanting to learn what massage therapy is like and how it helps, you’ll find the answers here on my blog.

2 Different Types Of Treatment For Brain Damage

If you receive brain damage, either from a traumatic brain injury (TBI) or an acquired brain injury (ABI), then you are going to need to receive specialized treatment to help your brain to return to as normal functioning as it possibly can. This is going to take a diverse team of medical specialists, first to diagnose the extent of the damage caused by the TBI or ABI, by using MRIs, CT scans, and other neuropsychological assessments. They are then going to discuss with you the best way to treat your condition. This article is going to discuss two different types of treatment for brain damage.

Speech And Language Therapy

When you get brain damage, this is often going to have an effect on your ability to communicate. This is going to differ depending on what side or area of your brain was damaged. For example, some people with brain damage may be able to speak clearly, but the words make no sense. On the other hand, someone may have an incredibly difficult time formulating their words, but when they do come out, they correctly form into words and sentences. In both of these cases, speech and language therapy is going to be beneficial. The speech therapist is going to be able to address what the issues are, and will be able to move forward with specialized treatment.

Physical And Occupational Therapy

Damage to your brain is also likely going to effect your ability to control your body, because of this, you are going to need to relearn how to control your body to the best of your ability. In order to do this, you are going to need to work with a physical therapist and an occupational therapist. A physical therapist is going to help you to get the best control possible of all aspects of your body to help you to do simple things like standing, walking, and otherwise using and strengthening your body as a whole. An occupational therapist is going to help you to do more fine tuned tasks, such as writing, typing, brushing your teeth, combing your hair, and other tasks along these same lines. Re-learning how to do these things will help you to live a more normal life from day to day and will allow you to be able to care for yourself with little or no assistance, depending on the severity of your condition.
